Pininfarina Battista EV hypercar adds ultra-rare anniversario model.Five units of this $2.6 million, 1900-hp special edition will celebrate the coachbuilder’s 90th anniversary.
Overview
Leaping over the hurdles of Covid, some wildly ambitious performance pledges and widespread cynicism, Pininfarina has only gone and done it: created a hugely powerful, shapely and technologically advanced hyper GT out of nothing.
Motor System
The Battista’s 120 kWh battery provides power to four electric motors – one at each wheel – with a simulated WLTP range of over 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge. Produce a combined output of 1,873bhp and 2,300Nm of torque. The Italian brand says the system will provide a 0–62mph (0-100 km/h) time of less than two seconds, a 0–186mph (0-300 km/h) time of 12 seconds and a top speed of 217mph.
Battista will be one of the most powerful road-legal cars ever produced, with almost 400bhp more than the Bugatti Chiron. The only car the Battista currently trails is the Lotus Evija, which has an extra 100bhp over Pininfarina’s effort.
Charging
Battista owners will have access to most of ChargePoint’s network of approximately 115,000 places to charge across North America and Europe as well as more than 133,000 charging spots through roaming integrations with other charging network providers. Using a 180kW DC-charging system, owners will be able to charge their Battista from 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
Exterior
At the front, headlights – which look a little like those on the recently shown Ferrari F8 Tributo are linked by a striking light bar – it’s a stunning signature feature, and gives the car a futuristic, yet still classic, look.
Price
Inside, the cockpit features black leather seats, black Alcantara trim, and plenty of fancy anniversary badges throughout including a “Battista” signature on the steering wheel. If the limited edition 2020 Pininfarina Battista Anniversario’s $2.9-million price tag is out of your reach. Remember there’s always the regular Battista for only $2.5 million.
