Aspark Owl, a Japanese engineering company you’ve maybe heard about, has just revealed the final production version of its Owl hypercar. There are two numbers to focus your attention on. First The road-going electric hypercar boasts a Lotus Evija-beating 2,012bhp, making it the world’s most powerful production road electric car.
It’s a great honour for Aspark to be the first to announce this achievement, reached in a record time. When we first announced this project, no one believed it could have been done. It is true that we do not have a long history, but we are now completing what is the first Japanese electric hypercar.
Aspark CEO Mansanori Yoshida
The Aspark Owl is something of a sleeper in the world of electric hypercars. First unveiled as a concept in the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Expo, it is now set to enter production in mid-2020.
Body, chassis and much of the components entirely made by top-level carbon fiber materials, extremely powerful four electric motors, a unique torque vectoring system, an exclusive battery system, and handmade premium interior. The full-electric hypercar Owl is a compendium of state-of-the-art technology, design and functionality, mixed with a genuine passion for beauty.
Speed
The most astonishing performance is the acceleration: from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 1.69 seconds. With 4 PMSM that produce 2012 horsepower (1480 kW), the Owl has a unique battery pack for a range of up to 450 km. Top speed is 400 km/h.
The Owl has a height of 99 cm: probably the lowest road legal electric hypercar in the world.
Power
The Owl has the most powerful 4 electric motors ever made. They produce a total power of 1480 kW with 2012 horsepower. Overall torque is around 2000 Newton meters.
The Owl has almost three times more power than Formula-E cars and two times more than Formula 1 cars.
The rotation of the motor should be the fastest in the world with 15000 rpm.
Features
The Owl features a hydraulic suspension with ride height adjustable from 80 to 100 mm. It’s fitted with carbon-ceramic brakes on each corner with 10-piston calipers in the front, and four-piston in the rear. Customers have an option of Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 or Pirelli P Zero rubber.
Exterior
Aspark wants the Owl’s exterior to portray a feminine appearance. The body features a mix of taut creases and smooth curves. All of the panels are carbon fiber reinforced plastic, except for a stainless steel frame in the roof for extra support. The machine’s total height is just 99 centimeters. Underneath the skin, there’s a carbon-fiber monocoque that weighs just 120 kilograms.
Price
The production version of the Owl is limited to only 50 cars worldwide. Each one will be fully customizable, each one will be different from the other.
Price of the base version is Euro 2,900,000. The Owl can be reserved with a reduced deposit of Euro 50,000.
